Apparently, a promo video for Skype for iPad was published on Skype’s YouTube channel which was removed soon after that. Luckily, it was captured by a twitter user and was then reposted by RazorianFly. According to the leaked video, the iPad edition of Skype would bring a cool new interface to the application, adding the ability to do video chat natively on the iPad. Even though Skype for iPhone supports voice and text chat in addition to video, there is yet to be a native Skype client for iPad. Read more...

Skype’s Android client has jut been updated to not only fix the embarassing “data hole” in the application, which was caused by lack of encryption usage on the database files which store contact information and chat history, but also brings the ability to make FREE Skype VoIP calls over your cell phone’s 3G data connection in addition to WiFi. It seems that we might be getting a surprise for this Christmas from Skype as they plan to bring video calling to the mobile platforms initially to the iOS. A new document for Skype has been discovered which, according to Engadget, describes how to make video calls on an iOS device both over WiFi and 3G.
