iTunes Music Store Might Make A Move to The Web on 1st September

At least AllThingsDigital tends to think so. While they’re making it sound like the holy grail by putting a ‘think social, not streaming’ tittle to their article, it seems much low key than that. According to them, Apple hasn’t yet made any deals with record companies to provide any iTunes update that will let you stream music directly to your devices,  but it could possibly unveil a web version of iTunes Music Store coming Wednesday, 1st September at the Apple media event where the new iPod and possibly iTV would be unveiled.iTunes Web Music Store

How to enable iPhone Push Notifications for comments/pingbacks/messages on your WordPress blog

Push notifications for comments on your WordPress blog

Push notifications are all the craze nowadays for iPhone/iPod Touch users. If you’re a blogger like me, you probably love Push notifications to get quick alerts of what ever is happening around you or the latest tweets you get ( via Boxcar and the likes ) and so on. I recently installed WPtouch for www.ithinkdiff.com ( this blog, duh! ) and found out a pleasant surprise that it enables push notifications for new comments and pingbacks on your blog.

It does so through an application called Prowl (available for $2.99 in the App Store) and a plug-in installed on your blog. The plug-in uses the Prowl API to notify it when there are new comments/pingbacks, a message from a reader or even new user accounts on your blog which is in turn sent to your iPhone/iPod Touch as a Push Notification. Here’s a small guide on how to get push notifications up and running.

Get Twitter Push Notifications to your iPhone by Boxcar

Boxcar Twitter Push notifications Boxcar brings push notifications to your iPhone from Twitter, and works with Tweetie and Twitterrific. It pushes the notifications to your iPhone when someone mentions you or sends you a direct message – you have the choice to turn either on or off. But the best thing about it is that you can chose your Twitter App of choice, either Tweetie or Twitterrific to open the mentions that you receive. Cool yea?
