Flickr App for Windows 7 and Windows Phone 7 Coming Soon

<Category: Microsoft, Windows 7, Windows Phone 7> No comment

This is a pleasant surprise for us Windows Phone 7 users. Flickr has announced an upcoming app for Windows 7 and Windows Phone 7 that easily puts the iPhone version and the non-existent iPad version to shame. It makes great use of panoramic UI, home screen tiles and the interactive UX of Windows Phone 7 which just can’t be matched by any other platform out there at the moment. We just hope the performance is on par with the native apps in Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft’s plan for an ‘iPad Killer’ is Windows 7 on a Slate. Not too Good.

Steve Ballmer isn’t one to be impressed easily. When he said that iPad sold more than he would have liked, it was obvious he doesn’t like it. He is representative of the general approach towards tablets/slates by Microsoft. They just don’t get them. Cramming a desktop operating system since more than a decade into a tablet hasn’t been fruitful for them, but still this is the strategy they’re gunning for to take down the iPad. Yes, it’s stupid but funny at the same time.Microsoft Windows 7 on a Slate

Just when the iPad has launched and over 30,000 people are using it, HP Slate comes back in the sight for 30 second to remind us that there is another Tablet PC ready to launch. But surely HP Slate would have to offer a lot more to be better than the iPad to provide any sort of competition.

Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Running on a Tablet

<Category: Microsoft, Windows, Windows Mobile> No comment

At CTIA, a tablet with a 7 inch screen was spotted with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 under the hood. Clearly the OS is not designed to run on a tablet. It might sound ridiculous but it does look tempting to use.   mangrove

Courier is real, confirms a Microsoft jobs posting

<Category: Microsoft> 2 Comments

Courier is one of those fanboy fantasies that was never officially announced but sparked a dream in the eyes of many. Why would Microsoft not want to work on such an excellent concept is something we might never understand, but it seems like they’ve faltered on the secrecy of the Courier project, considering the following jobs posting over at Microsoft Jobs Blog is real.
