Microsoft’s plan for an ‘iPad Killer’ is Windows 7 on a Slate. Not too Good.

Steve Ballmer isn’t one to be impressed easily. When he said that iPad sold more than he would have liked, it was obvious he doesn’t like it. He is representative of the general approach towards tablets/slates by Microsoft. They just don’t get them. Cramming a desktop operating system since more than a decade into a tablet hasn’t been fruitful for them, but still this is the strategy they’re gunning for to take down the iPad. Yes, it’s stupid but funny at the same time.Microsoft Windows 7 on a Slate

The iPad is a big success and currently no other tablet can even think of competing its sales figures. iOS is the best operating system available for any tablet device but still Microsoft hopes that they can compete with it using Windows 7 on a tablet. They just don’t learn do they? Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said today at a company conference where he acknowledged the early success of iPad and said that they would launch their version of a tablet soon as reported by CNET.

Google’s move to Linux and Macs and How dumb Mac Fanboys blog about it

<Category: Apple, Google> 11 Comments

You must have heard how Google is shifting from Windows PCs to Macs or Linux due to ‘security issues’ that Windows has. Honestly, using a 9 year old OS such as Windows  XP, with Internet Explorer 6, is just an invite to hackers to steal your data. Using this as an excuse to dump Windows, instead of moving to Windows 7 is just negative propaganda against Microsoft.

An Update plus New Windows 7 themes uploaded to the Gallery

I realized I don’t have a good connection with all you guys so far. So here it goes.

Things have been slow around here recently. I blame it on workload, thanks to studies and other social responsibilities (also my crappy HP laptop, which has no other speed except slow!). Sincere apologies to all the readers who expect better stuff from ithinkdifferent. I’ve finally come around to implementing some better time management for myself ( in theory at least ), and finally I’m publishing more themes ( most of them user submitted themes ), so finally (I know!), you’ll be able to enjoy more customization.

Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows 7 is now available for everyone to download – not just OEMs

<Category: Microsoft, Windows 7> No comment

Microsoft had made available Touch Pack for Windows 7 for OEMs only, sometime ago, so that they could bundle it with their multi-touch capable Windows 7 PCs. This meant that those who had older touch capable PCs such as HP TX2 ( Vista version) didn’t get Touch Pack to test out the capabilities and experiences of Windows 7 Touch. But now Microsoft has finally made it available to the general public as a free download and play with.

HP Slate leaked photos are full of disappointment

<Category: Microsoft, Windows, Windows 7> 2 Comments

After looking at many 30 second teasers of HP slate people surely would have said “wow”. Well now Conecti.ca got some photos of HP slate and it really does not look like what we saw in the videos. I was expecting that after taking such a long time HP would launch something different from netbooks but these images show that HP slate is just like a netbook without a keyboard.
