One of the major improvements in Windows 7 are its extensive personalization options. You can either download themes from the voluminous collection from the Personalization Gallery or create your own basic themes that can easily be shared with friends and family. Their Personalization Gallery is updated quite often and with the coming of valentines day, four new themes have been added to it. Namely, Valentine, Cats Everywhere, Dogs in Summer and Year of the Tiger. Read more...

Internet Explorer 6 is one of the most hated web browsers in the world, or let me be harsh and say the truth: it is the most hated browser in the world. Why is Internet Explorer 6 still used despite being so vulnerable to security attacks? Most websites don’t even support IE6 and vice versa because it’s that old. Was it always this way? No. Internet Explorer 6 was a good browser in its days (according to some) – the bygone days of 2001 to 2006 ( when Internet Explorer 7 was released ). But even Motorola Razor was an awesome cell phone in the past. Would you use it now when you have better alternatives? Read more...

Rafael Rivera has found evidence that Microsoft is planning to being external beta testing for Windows 7 Service Pack 1 soon. In recent updates via Windows Update, Microsoft has quietly enabled a beta candidacy check in the registry. This is similar to the Windows Vista days when adding a registry key would authorize the user to download and install the service pack 1 builds via Windows Update. Read more...

GodMode is the name given to cheats in video games that provide you with all weapons and access to all areas. As it turns out, Windows 7 has a GodMode cheat as well as uncovered by Caschy. It is basically a control panel of sorts which provides you access to all the features in one explorer window. In the Windows 7 control panel, features are grouped together either in categories or control panel item names. Nothing is grouped under anything in GodMode. Read more...

Stephen Horlander, Product Visual Designer at Mozilla has posted some updated UI concepts for the upcoming Firefox 4.0 on his blog. This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen concept screenshots from Mozilla for Firefox 4.0. They’ve been working hard on redesigning the UI, ever since Google Chrome changed the game for browsers. A hint of this can also be seen in Opera 10.50 leaked build which features a complete redesign and integration of Windows 7 Aero features. Read more...

Opera 10.50 build was recently leaked. While I’m not a Opera user at all, the screenshots over at Techie Buzz made me give it a try. Opera has really made this latest build full of Windows 7 Aero powered eye candy. They’ve used glass, similar to how Google Chrome and Paint.Net use it. Jumplists and taskbar previews have also been implemented. The great thing is that despite all this eye candy, it actually loads and performs faster than Google Chrome. Read more...
