Finally after all the rumors and wait, it’s been confirmed by HTC’s CEO himself that they’re going to release a Windows Phone 7 Series powered handset by the end of this year, could this handset probably be the much hyped about HD3?

At CTIA, a tablet with a 7 inch screen was spotted with Windows Mobile 6.5.3 under the hood. Clearly the OS is not designed to run on a tablet. It might sound ridiculous but it does look tempting to use.

Windows Live Wave 4 Beta setup was leaked a while back. It packs a whole new set of features but the interface is not that appealing, maybe because it’s not even in a beta stage right now. We really hope the final product is a lot like something which would perfectly blend into a Windows 7 style user interface.

Well, that didn’t take long. Just a day after the Windows Phone 7 Series emulator was made available, the guys over at XDA managed to extract the ROM. HD2 owners, don’t get too excited as there are no signs yet of whether this will be ported to older devices or not. The ROM only has the settings panel and Internet Explorer, but according to Long Zheng:

Microsoft has warned users about the fake antivirus program know as Security Essentials 2010 which is quite similar to Microsoft’s security protection software. The programs contains a trojan Win32/Fakeinit. If the user installs the fake antivirus program, it downloads and installs a fake scanner component that monitors other processes and attempts to terminate them.

Microsoft is moving onwards with the development of Windows Live Messenger Wave 4. The Messenger team is currently working on it and it is expected to be released soon.

We have all been talking for or against the iPad ever since it was announced. Some people were so disappointed and in denial, they went on to say that Apple still has another tablet in the works which will run OS X. While others like Josh Gruber say about iPad haters that they don’t ‘get it’. Whatever your opinion maybe, the best feature of the iPad is its software, whether you like it or not. Despite not having multi-tasking and Flash support, it is still miles ahead of other competing tablet operating systems out there. It provides a better finger-touch friendly UI than Windows 7, better apps than Android and is better in every sense than all the Linux distros out there.

The MIX10 website has an update that Dean Hachamovitch, the General Manager of the Internet Explorer team will be one of the keynoters at MIX10 next month. Dean will be talking about the changes and improvements made to Internet Explorer 9 since it was unveiled for the first time last year at PDC09. While we didn’t even get a glimpse of the new UI it may have, we do know it will have the following new features:
Microsoft has announced Windows Phone 7 Series at Mobile World Conference today and it has taken the tech community by storm. Even Engadget has a very positive review about the operating system so far. It’s clean, simple and flashy at the same time. The usability of the home screen beats anything that Apple has to offer with their bland and outdated ( almost 3 years old to be exact ) home screen concept. Expected to be available on handsets by holidays this year, Windows Phone 7 Series is a huge jump in smartphone innovation, something that happened the last time in 2007 with the iPhone and to some extent with Palm’s Web OS.
