In this post, you will learn how you can speed up your WordPress blog using a content delivery network or CDN as they’re normally called. A content delivery helps in speeding up any website by serving its assets such as images, videos, JavaScript, CSS and more from the closest servers located to their location instead of just one central location. The data is replicated on each of the servers throughout the world so that every user will be served the same but data from their closest server. Hence, using a CDN speeds up the delivery of content on your website considerably. Read more...

WordPress for Android 1.0 has just been released in the Android Market. It was a long time coming since iPhone now has version 2.0 of the WordPress app in the App Store. WordPress for Android 1.0 is based on the open source wpToGo app and works similarly to it, so old users will feel comfortable with the new app. Users can manage multiple blogs, moderate comments, write blog posts and edit pages on the go. Push notifications are all the craze nowadays for iPhone/iPod Touch users. If you’re a blogger like me, you probably love Push notifications to get quick alerts of what ever is happening around you or the latest tweets you get ( via Boxcar and the likes ) and so on. I recently installed WPtouch for www.ithinkdiff.com ( this blog, duh! ) and found out a pleasant surprise that it enables push notifications for new comments and pingbacks on your blog.
It does so through an application called Prowl (available for $2.99 in the App Store) and a plug-in installed on your blog. The plug-in uses the Prowl API to notify it when there are new comments/pingbacks, a message from a reader or even new user accounts on your blog which is in turn sent to your iPhone/iPod Touch as a Push Notification. Here’s a small guide on how to get push notifications up and running.

Apps for Windows has been away lately, but it’s back with a focus on making life easy for bloggers
. Moderator is one of my personal favorites and makes moderating WordPress comments from the comfort of your desktop very easy. The requirements are very simple; you must have a self-hosted WordPress blog and sufficient rights to install plugins. Here’s the list of features it provides: Read more...

bbPress is a simple and easy to use forum software created by the developers of WordPress. After many months of testing in alpha, beta and release candidate stages, the final version has been released today as bbPress 1.0. The bbPress administrative interface is very similar to WordPress and feels just like home for those accustomed to WordPress. One of the best things in bbPress is the single sign-on supprt between bbPress and WordPress, which means your users will need a single account to access both your WordPress installation as well as bbPress. Here’s a screenshot of bbPress 1.0 in action below.
