The Zune HD is half naked when it comes to apps, it’s just short of everything for now. Even though it got a Facebook and Twitter app after a long wait, but that’s just about it. But now Microsoft has just released 3 new apps for the Zune HD, not quite exciting, but the Zune HD Marketplace is slowly getting crowded with games and “functional” apps.
Zune HD Hacked – OpenZDK released for development
ZuneBoards has proudly announced that they have successfully hacked ZuneHD and its previous versions. This is not the first hack but it is described as the “the first true hack” available for Zune.
64GB Zune HD will launch on April 12 for $350
Microsoft has publicized that 64GB Zune HD will be available in Zune stores from 12th April with the price of $350 to be approximate. More Good news for the Zune fans would be that they would be able to customize their Zune HD from ZuneOrginals. It would be available in Platinum, Black, Blue, Red, Green, Purple and Magenta colors.
Zune HD v4.5 update on the horizon with new features; also brings Windows Phone 7 Series like Marketplace to the big screen
Zune HD’s firmware version 4.5 update was last unveiled at CES and ever since there hasn’t any word on it. It’s about to be released soon and it sure packs a handsome amount of features like Smart DJ and support for new Codecs.

According to Zune’s official website, there’s another top end model which made a sudden and unannounced entry, a 64GB Zune. But we didn’t see the Zune HD 64 anywhere else like; Amazon or Newegg.
Facebook app for Zune HD now available for download
After ages of waiting by Zune HD users, Microsoft has finally released a Facebook app for them. The Twitter app for Zune HD was released almost 76 days ago, back in December, 2009. The Facebook app provides all the usual features such as viewing Photos, News Feed, profiles, messaging, notificatiosn and status updating. It even allows you to set the song you’re currently listening to as your Facebook status.

If you are a lucky Zune HD owner, you probably know by now about the new 3d games released by Microsoft after firmware 4.3 release. Probably the most anticipated game was Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition, which was shown in advertisements for the Zune HD as well. It’s a port of a popular series for the Xbox 360, therefore the high expectations. Couple that with the Nvidia Tegra horsepower in the Zune HD and now we have a real world example of how powerful it is and how it performs.
New Zune HD games launched by Microsoft
Microsoft has just made available new games for the Zune HD. These aren’t the same old simple games that were launched with the Zune HD, but make full use of the power of Nvidia Tegra. A welcome addition to the Zune HD gaming catalogue are Project Gotham Racing: Ferrari Edition as well as Vans Sk8: Pool Service and Audiosurf. Hopefully, this is the beginning of the making of Zune HD as a portable gaming console.
