Use Swype on your iOS Device

For those who are not sure what Swype is, it is the “typing” system mostly found on Android devices. Swyping allows users to type faster in many instances, as you don’t need to tap the keys you want. All you do is swype across the keyboard where the letters are that you want to use.

Now, if you are familiar with this, or just want to give it a shot, you now have the ability to do so on an iOS device. However, your device will need to be jailbroken for this process to work, but with jailbreak.me’s recent exploit, there should be no reason you are not jailbroken yet.

In order to install Swype, go into Cydia and add the folowing repository: http://wynd.x10.mx and wait for it to get the packages. Then install Swype Beta (v0.1.0) and let it install. Once the install is complete, you are ready to use Swype on your device. This current version will only work on Apple App’s, such as text messaging or mail, but should be updated soon. The blue Swype line is also not working yet, but expect that to be fixed as well. Watch the video below for a quick tutorial on Swype on an iOS device.
