Microsoft Zune HD is already late to market, ipod and iphone have definitely early mover advantage. In this market apple have a very strong image while with old versions of Zune, Microsoft carries a bad image thus it will be really tough to penetrate through the market. Real success will lie in the price of product and value delivered at that price to the ultimate customer.

Yeah, well since WGA has incorrectly declared my Windows installation “Not Genuine”, I guess I won’t bother with this next generation of Zune. Let me tell you, I’d just so tired of the nonsense that MS makes me go through. I have a 100% legit license key in my own name. I never shared it with anyone, in any way. I haven’t upgraded any hardware. I haven’t futzed around with the registry or any other system software or configuration.

Just suddenly, and out of the blue, Windows is wasting my time, and now Microsoft is demanding that I either buy a new license key or call them to clear up this crud. So I will call them, but I have the right to be pissed off at them. Sadly, their agent (their call center) will receive my message of anger regarding their product. And justifiably so – their call center is there to communicate with me, and that includes my expression of product dissatisfaction.

I understand that they are trying to reduce piracy. And I think they should. But a system that annoys and wastes the time of a 100% legitimate user is, of course, totally unacceptable. I don’t care if it’s a bug, or a “design flaw”, or a “bad update”. It’s totally inappropriate and unprofessional.

“Best in business” my ass.
