“Apple has led the industry in delivering the world’s most advanced displays for pros to do their life’s best work, and today we do that once again with the introduction of the new Studio Display family,” said John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering. “Studio Display gets even better with a new 12MP Center Stage camera and powerful Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. And the Studio Display XDR is a huge leap forward for XDR technology, with a mini-LED backlight, 2000 nits of peak HDR brightness, advanced color accuracy, and a 120Hz refresh rate, transforming workflows like filmmaking, design and print, and 3D animation. It’s by far the world’s best pro display.”

Studio Display

The Studio Display combines a stunning 27-inch 5K Retina display with over 14 million pixels, 600 nits of brightness, and P3 wide color for true-to-life imagery. A 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View keeps users perfectly framed for video calls and presentations, while a three-microphone studio array ensures clear audio. The six-speaker sound system, with four force-cancelling woofers and two high-performance tweeters, delivers immersive sound for music, podcasts, and video editing.

Thunderbolt 5 connectivity allows users to daisy-chain up to four Studio Displays or connect high-speed accessories, while two USB-C ports expand options for peripherals and charging. With a tilt-adjustable stand, optional height adjustment, or VESA mount compatibility, the display adapts to any workspace setup. Adobe Lightroom, Illustrator, and Pro Tools workflows all benefit from this combination of visual fidelity, connectivity, and audio performance.

A 120Hz refresh rate and Adaptive Sync provide smooth motion for video playback, gaming, and graphically intense workflows. Apple has also introduced DICOM medical imaging presets and the Medical Imaging Calibrator, enabling the display’s use in diagnostic radiology. Studio Display XDR is designed for professionals using apps like Adobe Premiere, Autodesk Flame, SideFX Houdini, DaVinci Resolve, and Capture One.

Camera, Audio, and Connectivity Upgrades

Both displays feature a 12MP Center Stage camera, three-microphone studio arrays, and six-speaker audio with Spatial Audio support. Thunderbolt 5 ports support fast data transfer, daisy-chaining, and up to 140W charging for MacBooks. USB-C ports allow additional accessories to be connected while keeping the workspace organized. These enhancements make both displays versatile for creative studios, office setups, and hybrid work environments.
