Apple’s new Invites app lets iCloud+ users create, manage, and share events effortlessly

Apple has introduced a new app called Apple Invites, designed to make event planning more seamless for iPhone users. The app allows iCloud+ subscribers to create and share customized invitations for various events, while guests can RSVP directly through the app or on the web, even without an Apple account.

Apple Invites integrates with several Apple services to enhance the event experience. Users can personalize invitations with their own images, choose from Apple’s curated backgrounds, or generate unique visuals using Image Playground, Apple’s AI-powered tool. Writing Tools, another Apple Intelligence feature, helps craft invitation messages with ease. Once an event is set, Apple Invites syncs with the Calendar app, ensuring attendees have all the necessary details.

Guests can collaborate on event playlists through Apple Music, adding a social element to the gathering. Additionally, Shared Albums allow participants to upload and view event photos and videos, creating a digital memory book. The app also incorporates Weather and Maps, providing guests with real-time forecasts and navigation assistance.

Apple Invites streamlines event management with RSVP tracking, allowing hosts to monitor guest responses in real time. The app also supports link-based invitations, making it easy to share event details across platforms. Unlike traditional email invites, Apple’s approach ensures a modern, interactive experience.

Privacy remains a focus, as hosts can decide whether to share their home address, while guests control how their information is displayed. Each event can accommodate up to 100 participants, and while only iCloud+ subscribers can create events, anyone can RSVP for free. iCloud+ plans start at $0.99 per month, offering additional benefits like expanded storage and Private Relay.

Apple Invites competes with popular platforms like Partiful, which has gained traction among younger audiences with its mobile-friendly event organization tools. While Partiful remains free, Apple’s approach integrates tightly with its ecosystem, making it a compelling option for users already invested in iCloud and Apple Music.

Apple Invites is available for download on the App Store for iPhone models running iOS 18 and later. It can also be accessed via the web at icloud.com/invites.
