The Microsoft Surface Team Blog has posted a video of a cool new demo application which is a News Reader using a 360 degree globe-like interface. The news and videos are fetched from MSNBC.com. The touch capabilities of the Surface make it look amazing with panning, zooming and flick scrolling. The way videos are handled on the Surface with real time resizing and rotation using touch, makes me wonder just how powerful the hardware is. And while Apple has been awarded the multi touch patent, I have yet to see its effects on the Surface or Windows 7’s upcoming multi touch features. Anyhow, here’s the video and remember to watch it in HD for its full glory.
