The standard Ear Tip Fit Test, available on earlier AirPods Pro models, plays audio through the earbuds and uses internal microphones to measure how sound reflects inside the ear canal. The new acoustic seal test builds on this approach by actively checking for sound leakage, providing a clearer view of whether the earbuds are sealed correctly.
Apple explains that a proper seal enhances every part of the listening experience.
