Slack quietly brings iOS 26 Liquid Glass design to iPhone

Slack has quietly updated its iOS app with Liquid Glass, adopting Apple’s new iOS 26 design language on iPhone. The change was not formally announced, but users opening the app on iPhone will now notice translucent panes and layered depth consistent with Liquid Glass.

Apple introduced Liquid Glass with iOS 26, transforming system elements like navigation bars, controls, and app icons. The design emphasizes transparency, depth, and fluid motion, giving apps a more dynamic and immersive feel. Developers adjusted transparency levels during testing to improve readability, and Apple refined the look with frosting effects for clarity.

In addition to adopting Liquid Glass, Slack has also been rolling out smaller improvements in recent updates. These include refinements to performance and accessibility on iOS, along with adjustments that make navigation smoother and notifications more reliable. Combined with the new visual refresh, these incremental updates ensure the app not only looks modern but also runs more consistently for everyday use.

Slack’s decision to quietly integrate the new style is significant. Instead of a headline redesign, the app adopts Liquid Glass selectively in areas like toolbars and navigation panels, creating a smoother, more modern look without disrupting workflows. These subtle changes allow Slack to remain familiar while aligning more closely with iOS 26’s system-wide visual update.

For users, the shift is seamless. Slack continues to function the same way, but the added polish enhances the overall experience and sets the stage for other workplace and communication apps to follow. Apple’s Liquid Glass design is gradually becoming the new baseline for iOS, and Slack’s update shows that transition is now underway.
