Coffee Stain Publishing has announced that Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor will arrive on the App Store for iPhone and iPad on November 12, 2025. The title is a single-player survivor-like auto-shooter set in the Deep Rock Galactic universe, adapted specifically for mobile devices. Players will take on swarms of alien creatures while mining valuable resources in procedurally generated caves on Planet Hoxxes.
According to the App Store listing, the mobile version includes controller support and is optimized for iOS and iPadOS devices running version 12.0 or later. The game follows the familiar loop of exploration, survival, and resource collection while adding streamlined mechanics for touch and controller gameplay.
As per the developers, the mobile game will use a “try before you buy” model:
- Play the Elimination mission as Scout in Crystalline Caverns on Hazard 1, completely free.
- Upgrade with a one-time purchase to unlock the full game. Same gameplay and content as on PC.
- No ads. No gimmicks. Just mining, shooting, and surviving.
- Portrait AND Landscape mode!
The mobile release will offer players a free trial to experience the game before committing to the full version. Unlike traditional free-to-play games, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is structured as a one-time purchase that unlocks the complete experience. This approach mirrors how other premium survival and roguelike titles have been brought to iOS, giving players the assurance of no recurring microtransactions beyond the initial buy.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, the original Deep Rock Galactic was a cooperative multiplayer mining shooter that gained popularity on PC and consoles. This spin-off takes the same universe and aesthetic but shifts the design into a “survivor” format, where players face endless waves of enemies while upgrading equipment, weapons, and abilities. Each cave is randomly generated, ensuring no two runs are the same.
The launch of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor adds another high-profile survival shooter to iOS, joining games like Vampire Survivors that found massive success on mobile. With controller support, procedural cave systems, and the recognizable Deep Rock Galactic branding, it is positioned as both a fan service title and an accessible entry point for new players on iPhone and iPad.
