Apple and Real Madrid expand partnership with immersive Vision Pro projects

Apple and Real Madrid are teaming up on two major projects that bring the Bernabéu experience closer to fans worldwide. The collaboration strengthens the Apple Real Madrid partnership and pushes immersive sports content further into the Vision Pro era.

The first project is a new 180 degree 8K Apple Immersive documentary filmed during Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Juventus in October. More than 30 specialized Blackmagic cameras were placed throughout the Bernabéu to capture 3D depth, behind the scenes access, and the noise of a packed European night. It offers a level of presence that goes beyond the Real Madrid: Until The End documentary on Apple TV, which was not produced in immersive video.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez describes this partnership as part of a long standing plan to open the stadium to the world. His second project, Infinite Bernabéu, aims to let fans experience matches as if they were seated inside the arena. While Apple and Real Madrid have not confirmed exact timelines, the plan hints at live Vision Pro broadcasts from the Bernabéu. Apple is already preparing similar immersive streams for select NBA games in 2026, using the same camera system and high bitrate delivery.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, visited the Bernabéu this week as part of the ongoing Apple Real Madrid partnership. He highlighted Apple’s expanding role in sports broadcasting, from Friday Night Baseball to integrating iPhone 17 Pro footage into live productions, along with the global reach of MLS Season Pass. Real Madrid fits naturally into Apple’s strategy as the company builds a premium catalog of spatial sports content.

The relationship has been growing for years. Tim Cook visited Real Madrid in 2023 when the team was exploring Apple sponsorship. The Bernabéu has since integrated Apple Wallet for ticketing, payments, and transit, and fans can access interactive match details directly on an iPhone. Pérez has repeatedly said he wants supporters to enjoy a virtual seat from home that can rival the experience inside the stadium.

Apple’s 40th anniversary in Spain also played a role in the moment. To mark the milestone, Apple hosted a live performance at its Puerta del Sol store in Madrid, shot entirely on iPhone 17 Pro cameras. It was a reminder of how Apple sees professional content creation and immersive viewing as central to its future.

The Apple Real Madrid partnership is still unfolding, but the direction is clear. A new documentary arrives first. Live immersive football comes next. For supporters, it could be the closest possible match day experience without stepping foot inside the Bernabéu.
