The iPhone 18 Pro colors have leaked months ahead of Apple’s expected September launch, and one shade is already getting most of the attention. According to multiple supply chain reports, Apple is preparing a refreshed palette that leans into bolder finishes while keeping a few familiar options in place.
What stands out this year is a new “Dark Cherry” color, described as a deep, wine-like red. It is expected to replace the iPhone 17 Pro’s Cosmic Orange as the signature finish. Unlike last year’s brighter tone, this one appears more muted and premium, which could appeal to users who want something distinct without going too flashy.
The latest leaks suggest Apple is testing four color options for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. These include Dark Cherry, Light Blue, Dark Gray, and Silver. Internally, Apple is reportedly referencing specific Pantone codes for each, which points to a more refined and deliberate color strategy this year.
Dark Cherry is clearly positioned as the hero color. It builds on earlier rumors of a red iPhone but shifts the tone toward something closer to wine than bright red. This subtle change matters because it aligns more closely with the Pro lineup’s premium identity, rather than the more playful colors typically seen on standard iPhone models.
Light Blue is the other new addition that could draw attention. It is said to resemble the Mist Blue seen on the base iPhone 17, while also echoing older Pro finishes like those from the iPhone 13 Pro era. It offers a softer alternative for users who want something lighter without going neutral.
Dark Gray appears to replace traditional black tones, with some reports suggesting Apple may skip a true black finish entirely this year. If that holds, it would be a notable shift, even if Dark Gray still delivers a similar understated look.
Silver is expected to remain in the lineup as the safe, classic option. Reports indicate it will be very close to the current generation, which makes sense for buyers who prefer a timeless finish over trend-driven colors.
One important detail is that these colors are still in development. Apple has not finalized the lineup, and historically, the company has tested more finishes than it actually releases. There is always a chance one of these options could be dropped before mass production begins.
Beyond colors, leaks also point to small design refinements like a slightly smaller Dynamic Island and improved camera hardware, including a possible variable aperture system. Still, the color lineup is shaping up to be one of the more noticeable changes this year.
