Apple has released revised versions of iPadOS 27 Beta 3 and macOS 27 Golden Gate Beta 3 to developers, just hours after making the first public betas available. The updated releases carry new build numbers but, at least for now, Apple hasn’t disclosed what’s changed.
Revised beta builds are relatively uncommon, but they typically indicate that Apple identified an issue after the original developer beta was released. While the company hasn’t published updated release notes, the new builds likely include last-minute fixes or refinements ahead of the wider public beta rollout.
The revised iPadOS 27 Beta 3 is available with build number 24A5380l, replacing the previous Beta 3 build. Apple has also issued a new macOS 27 Golden Gate Beta 3 build, now version 26A5378n.
Apple has not explained why the new builds were necessary, and there were no widespread reports of major bugs or installation issues affecting the original Beta 3 releases. It’s possible the updates address smaller issues discovered internally or fixes that surfaced during final testing before the public beta launch.
So far, no new user-facing features have been discovered in either revised build. The original Beta 3 releases already introduced the major changes, including new Golden Gate wallpapers in macOS 27, Intel app compatibility warnings, Siri AI support on Apple Watch through watchOS 27 Beta 3, and several refinements across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27.
If Apple added any additional fixes or hidden changes in these revised builds, they are expected to be minor. We’ll update this story if Apple publishes release notes or if any new features are discovered.
