Apple’s Home Accessories Go Beyond LG with a Schneider Electric Thermostat and Sensor in iOS 27.2

Apple’s home accessory lineup reaches beyond LG. Code in iOS 27.2 lists a Schneider Home Smart Thermostat and a Schneider Electric Temperature/Humidity Sensor next to LG’s smart lock, thermostat and sensor.

The find comes from pdfu, who posted the Schneider details on X as a follow-up to a thread on the LG devices. Apple has not confirmed any of it. Earlier reporting on this lineup covered an LG-built doorbell, lock and thermostat and named no other brand.

The accessories sit in a table called _secondPartyProducts inside HomeKitMatter. All 10 accessory IDs in it belong to either LG or Schneider.

iOS 27.2 Gives 10 LG and Schneider Accessory IDs Special Treatment

iOS gives every product in the table special treatment, including the setup assets pdfu found. Each entry carries a Matter vendor ID and product ID, the pair that identifies a device on a Matter network. LG’s vendor ID is 4142 in the list and Schneider’s is 4190.

Many entries are variants of the same product. LG’s lock, thermostat and sensor each appear twice, once under the plain name and once with a GEMS label. Schneider has four IDs, and pdfu could not identify one of them.

Brand Accessory Vendor ID / Product ID
LG Smart Thermostat 4142/8864
LG GEMS Smart Thermostat 4142/12273
LG Smart Deadbolt Lock 4142/8896
LG GEMS Smart DoorLock 4142/12274
LG Temperature/Humidity Sensor 4142/8192
LG GEMS Smart Remote T/H Sensor 4142/12272
Schneider Thermostat TP 4190/17645
Schneider Thermostat QA variant 4190/17644
Schneider Temperature/Humidity Sensor 4190/17647
Schneider Unidentified accessory, possibly a Sensor QA variant 4190/17648

Only the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat Has Setup Assets in iOS 27.2

Of the two named Schneider products, only the thermostat shows setup assets, and pdfu describes them as placeholders. Its setup configuration also mentions Proximity Settings. Nothing in the thread explains what those settings control.

The Schneider Electric Temperature/Humidity Sensor has none yet. iOS 27.2 is still in beta, with beta 3 reaching developers on October 5, so the table and its assets could change before release.

The LG side has more detail so far. The first photos of the LG accessories surfaced on October 7. The thread covers the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock’s rotating keypad, the LG Smart Thermostat’s display and humidity settings, and the LG Temperature Sensor’s magnetic back and replaceable battery.

Apple is expected to introduce its smart home hub on October 13, alongside a new HomePod mini and Apple TV. The LG accessories are not expected to reach customers for at least a few more months.
