Apple Support app for iOS 26 with Liquid Glass and AI support

Apple today released an update to its Support app, adding compatibility for iOS 26 along with visual tweaks and stability improvements. The version 5.1.1 update brings the Support app into line with Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language, plus behind-the-scenes enhancements.

Support app iOS 26 update

iOS 26 introduces a system-wide “Liquid Glass” aesthetic that uses translucency, depth, and layered effects for interface elements and navigation. The new design style applies across system controls, navigation bars, and app icons. The updated Support app now features a layered icon design and a redesigned bottom navigation bar in keeping with this visual shift.

Beyond aesthetics, the Support app update also includes “performance enhancements and bug fixes,” as noted in the release notes.

One of the more interesting changes is Apple’s experimental AI-assisted support flow. In this mode, certain users entering the “Chat” tab now see a branded splash screen inviting them to try an automated chat feature. The flow is designed to help solve common issues quickly, and escalate to human support when needed. The splash screen warns that the “Support Assistant” is experimental, and that information from the chat may be used to improve the system or shared with partners for support purposes.

This update is consistent with Apple’s broader push to integrate Apple Intelligence and smart features throughout iOS 26. The operating system adds deeper support for on-device intelligence, Live Translation, and more expressive UI elements. With the Support app now adopting both the visual design and smarter support workflows, Apple is signaling that even its utility apps will evolve in the direction of more fluid, intelligent interactions.

From a user’s perspective, the app update is a welcome alignment: launching Support will feel more consistent with the rest of the OS. From Apple’s standpoint, it helps normalize AI-assisted support and sets a precedent for future service tools to adopt the Liquid Glass style.
