Apple Watch Earth Day and Dance Day challenges 2026 dates and rewards

Apple is rolling out two new Apple Watch Activity challenges later this month, giving users fresh ways to stay active while unlocking limited time rewards. The upcoming events tie into Earth Day on April 22 and International Dance Day on April 29, continuing Apple’s steady push to keep Fitness app engagement tied to real world moments.

These challenges follow the same formula Apple has used in previous years, combining simple activity goals with digital rewards like badges and animated stickers. While the concept is familiar, the timing and themes are designed to keep users returning to the Activity rings throughout the year rather than relying on long term habits alone.

The Earth Day challenge goes live on April 22. To complete it, Apple Watch users need to record a workout of at least 30 minutes using the Workout app or any third party app that logs data to the Health app. Completing the Apple Watch Earth Day challenge 2026 unlocks a dedicated badge in the Fitness app along with a set of themed animated stickers that can be used in Messages.

A week later, on April 29, Apple will introduce the International Dance Day challenge. This one is more specific, requiring users to log a Dance workout of at least 20 minutes. Like the Earth Day challenge, it also rewards users with a unique badge and a new set of animated stickers once completed.

These limited time challenges are part of Apple’s broader Activity challenge schedule, which includes recurring events like the New Year challenge in January and Heart Month in February. The idea remains consistent: short, achievable goals tied to specific dates that encourage users to close their rings and stay engaged with Apple Watch fitness tracking.

Both challenges will only be available on their respective days, so users who want to collect the badges will need to complete the requirements within the 24 hour window.
