OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT and Codex users can now add multiple Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts accounts, removing a limitation that had forced users with separate personal and professional Google workspaces to maintain separate conversations or manually switch contexts.
Previously, each plugin could only connect to one Google account. A user with both a personal Gmail and a work Gmail had to run separate ChatGPT instances or switch between conversations to access each account’s emails, calendar, and contacts. The update, confirmed by OpenAI DX engineer Gabriel Chua, eliminates that friction.
How to Add Multiple Accounts
Open the Plugins section in the ChatGPT sidebar, find Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Contacts, and click the gear icon for a plugin you have already connected. Complete the standard Google authorization flow to bind a second or third account to the same ChatGPT profile.
Once configured, ChatGPT can pull relevant information from all connected accounts when needed, giving it a broader picture of your communications, relationships, and schedule across both personal and work contexts.
1. In the left side bar, select “Plugins” and search for Gmail/Google Calendar/Google Contacts

The feature directly solves a friction point introduced when Gmail Google Calendar, and Google Contacts integration for Pro users. Since then, Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts have gained access to the same plugins, but all remained constrained to a single Google account each.
With multiple accounts now supported, a user can handle professional scheduling and email in one conversation while another instance of ChatGPT references their personal calendar and contacts. Google Calendar access enables checking schedules, creating new events, and suggesting meeting times within a conversation, while Google Contacts access instantly provides details about people you email or meet with.
Connected accounts remain subject to their respective app permissions and workspace controls, meaning availability can vary depending on your plan, organization, and administrator settings. For enterprise users, IT policies may restrict which accounts can be connected or what actions ChatGPT can take within them.
