Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad updated with iPhone 17 ProRes RAW support

Apple has released an update for Final Cut Pro for Mac and iPad. The update features support for iPhone 17 ProRes RAW video as well as Apple Log 2 with Apple Log 2 LUT. The app also brings support for iPadOS 26 specific features, including background tasks and menu bar.

Final Cut Pro Background Tasks

The Mac version features compatibility updates for macOS Tahoe, as well as support for ProRes RAW video which can be captured on iPhone 17 Pro using Final Cut Camera 2.0. Apple Log 2 footage can also be edited by applying the Apple Log 2 LUT, which results in really beautiful footage.

Final Cut Pro 11.2 includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:

  • Unlock even more controls for ProRes RAW video shot on iPhone, so you can adjust exposure, color temperature, tint, and demosaicing. (ProRes RAW capture requires supported iPhone models.)
  • Edit and play back your Apple Log 2 footage with the vibrancy of the original scene by applying the Apple Log 2 LUT.
  • Includes stability and performance improvements.

On iPad, Final Cut Pro has feature parity for advanced video formats and workflows with its Mac counterpart. However, it also gets support for menu bar shortcuts and commands, as well as background tasks that were introduced with iPadOS 26
