Philips Hue announced a wide-ranging set of new products at IFA 2025 in Berlin, expanding its smart home ecosystem with new hubs, lights, and security devices. The fall lineup introduces both premium and budget options, with a major focus on performance, affordability, and Matter integration.
At the center of the update is the Hue Bridge Pro, a next-generation hub that supports more devices and brings advanced features like motion sensing through RF signals. Alongside this, the company introduced a new Essentials range of affordable bulbs and strips to make Hue more accessible to first-time smart lighting buyers. Other additions include brighter light strips, permanent outdoor lighting, and Hue’s first-ever video doorbell.
The key highlights of the Hue fall 2025 products are:
- Hue Bridge Pro: Redesigned hub with support for over 150 lights and 50 accessories, equipped with Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and a faster processor. It can store more than 500 lighting scenes and introduces MotionAware, a system that turns Hue lights into motion sensors without extra hardware. Available now for $98.99.
- Hue Essentials lineup: A budget-friendly range of bulbs (A19/E27, BR30, GU10) and light strips with slightly reduced specs but full Hue compatibility. Pricing starts at $24.99 per bulb, or as low as $15 per bulb in multipacks. Starter kits will also be offered.
- Hue OmniGlow light strip: First Hue strip to eliminate hot spots for a smooth gradient effect, delivering up to 4,500 lumens. Priced at $149.99.
- Hue Flux Ultra Bright light strip: A more affordable strip option that delivers up to 6,000 lumens, starting at $99.99.
- Hue Festavia permanent string lights: Outdoor string lights designed for year-round use with IP65 weather resistance. Prices begin at $119.99.
- Hue patio globe lights: Globe-style outdoor lights built for permanent installation and all-weather conditions. Priced at $149.99.
- Hue Secure video doorbell: First-ever Hue video doorbell with 2K video, motion and package detection, and integration with Hue lights. Priced at $169.99, launching in September 2025. An optional plug-in Smart Chime is available for $59.99. Comes with free 24-hour video history, with Matter and Apple Home support planned for fall.
Ecosystem upgrades and Matter support
Alongside the individual products, Philips Hue is updating the entire platform to be more open and compatible. Many of the new lights and devices support Matter-over-Thread, making them directly compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. This ensures that Hue products can integrate more seamlessly across ecosystems, while still offering premium features through the Hue app.
Advanced features such as MotionAware presence detection and large-scale scene storage require the new Hue Bridge Pro, but basic lighting control, automations, and voice assistant integration will work even without it. This combination of broader compatibility and premium Hue-specific features positions the brand to attract both casual smart home users and enthusiasts seeking advanced control.
The updates mark one of the most ambitious product refreshes for Hue in years, targeting both enthusiasts looking for advanced automation and newcomers seeking affordable entry points. By broadening its range, Signify, the parent company of Hue, is positioning the brand to compete more aggressively against lower-cost rivals while strengthening its reputation as a leader in premium smart lighting.
