Apple has released Special Edition AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case in India, a festive version of its newest earbuds with a rangoli-inspired engraving. It is priced at ₹17,900 and sold only at Apple for one month.
Apple’s India store listing puts the sale window at October 11 to November 11, 2026, which lines up with the Diwali season. The listing limits availability to India.
The Case Pairs a Rangoli-Inspired Pattern With a Heart-Eyes Emoji
The engraving draws on rangoli, the traditional Indian art form, and arranges a decorative pattern around a heart-eyes emoji. Apple’s listing only mentions festive engraving, so the pattern itself is best seen in the product images on the page. Rangoli also runs through Apple’s Diwali promotions in India. Its Diwali page lists a free Today at Apple workshop on drawing your own rangoli on iPad.
The Festive Version Keeps the Full AirPods 5 Feature Set
The Special Edition AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case lists the same headline feature as the standard model, up to 1.5x more Active Noise Cancellation than AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. Apple credits a redesigned acoustic architecture and next-generation Adaptive EQ for richer, more detailed sound in an open-ear design.
The earbuds run on the H2 chip, and the Wireless Charging Case adds a force sensor with volume swipe. Battery life is rated at up to 5 hours per charge with Active Noise Cancellation and up to 22 hours in total with the case. The case has a built-in speaker for Find My, and it charges from an Apple Watch charger, a Qi charger or USB-C.
Live Translation works with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone running iOS 26 or later and covers Mandarin Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), English (UK and US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish. Siri AI is also supported and is rolling out in English first, with usage limits that may apply.
US Buyers Stay With the $149 Standard Model
The standard model is the $149 AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case Apple launched in September. Apple’s US AirPods 5 page shows only that model and the base AirPods 5, while the festive version sits on the India store.
Apple released limited-edition AirPods 4 for the Year of the Snake in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan in January 2025, and those carried the same two-unit limit per customer.
