WhatsApp beta for iOS adds interactive question stickers for Status updates

WhatsApp has released a new beta update for iPhone users via TestFlight, bringing the version up to 25.28.10.73. This release introduces an engaging new feature called Status Questions, allowing users to add interactive question boxes to their WhatsApp Status updates.

As reported by WABetaInfo, the feature is currently rolling out to a limited number of beta testers, with wider availability expected in the coming weeks. WhatsApp has already launched similar functionality on Android, aiming for a consistent experience across both platforms.

The new question stickers appear as interactive boxes that users can place on photos or videos while creating a Status update. Viewers who have access to the feature can respond directly from within the Status interface. Replies are private and sent only to the original poster, who can view, manage, or delete them from a new Activity section in the viewers list.

WhatsApp also notifies users when someone responds to their question sticker. Each reply triggers a push notification with a preview of the message, allowing quick access to open the Status and view full responses. This setup encourages more active communication and helps creators gather feedback or opinions without cluttering chat threads.

Privacy remains central to how this feature works. All responses are protected with end-to-end encryption, ensuring that only the sender and the Status author can see them. Even when users choose to reshare a response, WhatsApp hides the responder’s identity, maintaining confidentiality while promoting interaction.

Beta testers who have received the feature can experiment by adding a question sticker to their next Status. The option appears among other interactive tools when composing a post. However, installing version 25.28.10.73 does not guarantee immediate access, since WhatsApp activates the feature in phases to monitor stability and gather user feedback before a wider rollout.

As the company continues expanding interactive tools on both iOS and Android, this feature demonstrates WhatsApp’s broader focus on making Status updates more dynamic and community-driven. Once testing concludes, the question sticker feature is expected to reach all iOS users in a future public release.
