Delivery time of 2021 MacBook Pro models see an improvement

Apple launched the new 2021 MacBook Pro models in October 2021 but the delivery dates of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro were stretched over several weeks (up to 2 months) and it was speculated that Apple might lose out on huge revenue during the Holiday season because customers would receive their orders after December 25, 2021. However, with supply constraints are easing, it is spotted that the delivery time of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models is improving.

At the Q1, 2022 earnings call, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the company is likely to perform better in the second quarter than the first quarter of 2022 because of ease in its supply constraints.

“We saw supply constraints across most of our products. We’re forecasting that we will be less [constrained] in March than we were in the December quarter. We’re not projecting that. You need to know a lot of things to be able to make an accurate forecast there, like how are other people’s demands in addition to what kind of supply we can squeeze out.”

In February, Apple iPhone assembler, Foxconn also mentioned ease in supply constraints starting from the current quarter. And with improvement in the supply chain, Apple is able to meet the demand for its 2021 MacBook Pro models in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

As MacRumors reported last month, across Apple’s entire MacBook Pro line, customers were facing at least several weeks before they were estimated to receive either their 14-inch or 16-inch MacBook Pro. Since then, Apple has significantly caught up with demand, as now, customers can get their hands on either model in their baseline configurations in two weeks or less.
