WhatsApp is currently beta testing large link previews for iOS

In April, WhatsApp launched a new update for iOS that featured larger media thumbnails, alongside group controls for disappearing messages. Now, the platform is planning to do the same for link previews. According to a new report, the company is testing large link previews with WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.160.17 available on TestFlight.

WhatsApp to launch large link previews for iOS, feature currently in beta testing

Users who are enrolled in WhatsApp’s beta program can update their app to discover the new feature. When users send a link to a chat, they will discover a larger preview in this beta.  As reported by WABetaInfo:

WhatsApp was testing a new way to present the image preview when you share links, as announced on Twitter one month ago: Today there is news: WhatsApp is finally rolling out this improvement for all Android and iOS beta testers!

The report comes a day after the company finally rolled out its highly-anticipated chat migration feature for transferring chat histories between iOS and Android. The chat history will include all conversations, photos, and voice notes.

Prior to this, if users switched from an Android to iPhone or vice versa, they would either have to use third-party apps to transfer their data or resort to other unfavorable measures. With the new feature, the platform is finally offering a simple solution for users who do not want to let go of their data when switching from Android to iOS or the other way around.

The next major feature users can look forward to is multi-device support, which is currently in beta testing. Multidevice support would allow users to use the service on up to four devices without having the phone used for their account switched on or connected to the internet.
