Apple Music for Android is getting a major Liquid Glass redesign with the 7.0 beta. The update brings the translucent look Apple introduced on its own platforms a year ago to a floating bottom bar, new top bars and redesigned artist pages.
The changes arrive in the latest 7.0 beta of the app. Testers who join the beta will see the new design across most of the main screens.
The floating bottom bar is the biggest visual change
Liquid Glass debuted with iOS 26 and carries on in iOS 27, which is out now. Apple Music on Android had been using the older layout, where the mini-player was docked to the bottom bar.
That changes in 7.0. The bottom navigation bar now floats above the content instead of sitting flush with the screen edge. It has a small amount of translucency, so the content behind it shows through, mostly as blocks of solid color.
The mini-player gets the same floating treatment and is no longer attached to the bar. Scrolling does not shrink the bar the way it does in Liquid Glass on iPhone, so everything stays at full size. The app also uses an edge-to-edge design for the status bar and navigation bar.

Library, artist pages and Settings all get reworked
The rest of the redesign spreads across the app’s main screens.
- Top bars across the app now put the page title and overflow menu on the same line. The three-dot icons are no longer red and sit inside circular containers.
- The Library tab gets the biggest update, with Edit Pins and Edit Categories moved into the overflow menu. Pins first arrived with Apple Music 5.0 for Android a year ago.
- Artist pages now take their background color from the cover image, which is close to the iOS design. The play button is more prominent, the info page is no longer buried at the very bottom, and Share moves to the top-right corner.
- Settings is modernized with better grouping.
- Now Playing has no major changes, which matches iOS, where that screen did not see big updates either.
Apple Music 7.0 is currently in beta, and testing usually lasts a few weeks. You can join through the Apple Music listing on Google Play or the beta sign-up page. Builds at this stage are generally stable.
