Apple announces 2022 “Sales Tax Holiday” in nine U.S. states

In nine U.S. states, Apple has announced the “Sales Tax Holiday” from the end of July through the first week of August 2022.  The upcoming “Sales Tax Holiday” provides an opportunity for consumers in select states to purchase eligible Macs, iPads, iPhones, and other products without paying the state’s sales tax.

For a limited time, consumers will be able to shop select Apple products in stores and online at lower prices.

Here are the nine states participating in Apple’s Sale Tax Holiday 2022 and their dates:

  • Tennessee: July 29 to July 31
  • Florida: July 25 to August 7
  • Arkansas: August 6 to August 7
  • Missouri: August 5 to August 7
  • New Mexico: August 5 to August 7
  • South Carolina: August 5 to August 7
  • Virginia: August 5 to August 7
  • West Virginia: August 5 to August 8
  • Massachusetts: August 13 to August 14

The tech company requests that customers in select states browse eligible products in their states before shopping tax-free. It must be kept in mind that eligible products and discounted prices will vary from state to state.

Interested customers can easily access their state’s Department of Finance and Administration website through Apple.com. For example, the Arkansas notification reads:

Sales tax holiday period is August 6–7, 2022.

To qualify for the tax exemption, the purchase must be made during the sales tax holiday period by an individual for personal use. There is no sales price limit for the items listed below.

Computers
All iPad models
All iPhone models
Printers
Accessories: Keyboards, Mice, Apple Pencil, Displays

Furthermore, customers can also avail the company’s other offers in addition to the Sales Tax Holiday like back-to-school promotion, 3% cash back on purchases through Apple Card, and trade-in older device.
