Backbone CEO, Maneet Khaira has announced a new “Backbone One – PlayStation Edition” mobile controller for iPhone. Specifically designed to match the colors, material, and finish of the PS5 console’s DualSense wireless controller, the new “Backbone One – PlayStation Edition” enables iPhone users to enjoy their console games on the go and much more.
In iOS 14.5, Apple introduced support for PlayStation 5 DualSense Wireless Controller to elevate players’ gaming experience on iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV. And now, iPhone users have a new mobile controller which will allow them to enjoy gaming remotely.
“Backbone One-PlayStation Edition” controller brings PS, App Store, and streaming games to iPhone
iPhone 12 and newer models support a 5G network for faster connectivity which delivers a whole new gaming experience, along with other benefits. Requiring broadband internet and PS5 or PS4, the new Backbone One-PlayStation Edition brings console games to iOS and much more.
Users can simply plug their iPhones into the Backbone One and start playing PS5 and PS4 via that PS Remote Play app. It also supports other products in the PS5 lineup like the Pulse 3D headset. As the controller is powered by the iPhone, it does not require charging.
The new mobile controller works with App Store games and other game streaming services that support controllers like Fantasian, Call of Duty: Mobile, Genshin Impact, and others.
Furthermore, users can download the Backbone App to see different PlayStation integration like custom glyphs and browse through hundreds of titles. The app also includes a dedicated row to display new releases and updates from PlayStation.
However, the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition will be launched in select regions: the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. But Khaira said that it will be released in more countries later.
