Does Microsoft still unconsciously promote Internet Explorer 6?

In current times, when we are seeing campaigns such as STOP IE6 and also Microsoft themselves advertising the fresh new Internet Explorer 8, which is no doubt better than previous IE version and even the vulnerable and easily hackable Safari, we still see IE6 being promoted by Microsoft themselves.
