iOS 16 brings new lock screen with customized wallpapers, widgets, and much more

At the WWDC 2022 Keynote, Apple introduced iOS 16 with a redesigned lock screen which will allow users to customize the wallpaper, select widgets, create multiple lock screens, select Focus oriented lock screens, and much more.

Here is everything new in iOS 16 Lock Screen

Personalize Lock Screen
- Users will be able to customize the font, color, and photo of the lock screen.
- The new Lock Screen gallery features a wide variety of options for lock screen inspiration including Apple collections, Weather wallpaper with live weather conditions, Astronomy wallpaper, and much more.

- Inspired by Apple Watch, the iOS 16 will bring widgets directly to the lock screen for users to get important information at a glance like upcoming calendar events, the weather, battery levels, alarms, time zones, Activity ring progress, and more.
- The new Live Activities features will display a game’s score, uber ride, and more in real-time on the lock screen.

Redesigned Notifications
- Notifications are positioned at the bottom of the lock screen UI so that they do not hide the lock screen wallpaper.
- On iOS 16, several notifications will appear in a roll at the bottom of the UI.

Focus
- Building on the Focus feature, users will be able to create Focus-related lock screen wallpapers. For example, users will be able to apply a lock screen for work, personal, driving, and any other Focus which will automatically apply the setting related to a particular Focus.
