Apple has released macOS 27 Golden Gate beta 8 to developers, bringing the latest test build of its upcoming Mac software update. Apple has not highlighted any major new features specifically for beta 8. As developers spend more time with the latest build, however, additional changes, bug fixes and performance improvements may emerge.

What to Expect From macOS 27 Golden Gate

The update introduces a dedicated Siri app alongside Apple’s revamped Siri AI, giving the assistant a more prominent role on macOS. Siri is also gaining deeper Apple Intelligence capabilities, including better understanding of personal context and more useful interactions across Apple’s ecosystem.
Apple is also adding an AI-powered Shortcuts experience that can create shortcuts from natural-language prompts. Safari is gaining a prompt-based extension builder, allowing users to describe what they want an extension to do rather than building one manually from scratch.
The visual design is receiving further attention as well. macOS 27 includes new Golden Gate-themed wallpapers and screensavers, while Apple is restoring fixed-radius corners for windows and apps after introducing dynamically changing corner radii in macOS 26.
