Netflix Playground app launches with ad-free kids games

Netflix has launched a new standalone app called Netflix Playground, built specifically for children aged eight and under. The app brings together a collection of games and interactive activities based on popular kids franchises, all included as part of a standard Netflix subscription.

Unlike the existing games section inside the main Netflix app, Playground is a dedicated space for younger users. It is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, and users can sign in with their Netflix account to get started without paying anything extra.

The focus here is on simplicity and safety. Netflix Playground does not include ads or in-app purchases, and there are no additional fees beyond the subscription. The experience is designed to be straightforward for both kids and parents, with everything contained in a single app. From Netflix:

Imagine a world where your kids can step inside their favorite stories and interact with their best-loved characters in entirely new ways. Netflix Playground is an all-in-one app designed for exactly that — bringing the worlds of Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss, Peppa Pig, StoryBots, and Bad Dinosaurs to life through fun, enriching, and age-appropriate activities.

As parents, we know the find is only half the battle; too often, a great digital discovery is ruined by unexpected ads, hidden fees, or unwanted in-app content. Netflix has made it easier to say “yes” to playtime by putting these premium experiences all in one place — with no in-app purchases, no additional fees, and zero ads. Now get ready to play and explore the world of Netflix Playground!

At launch, the app features games based on well-known titles like Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, and Dr. Seuss stories. Kids can explore “Playtime with Peppa Pig,” along with mini-game collections featuring characters such as Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster. The lineup also includes puzzles, memory games, sticker activities, and creative play tools tailored for younger audiences.

One notable feature is offline access. All games can be played without a mobile or Wi-Fi connection, making the app usable during travel or in situations where connectivity is limited.

Netflix says the library will continue to expand over time, with more titles and characters planned. Future additions are expected to include franchises like Gabby’s Dollhouse, PJ Masks, and PAW Patrol.

The app is currently available in select markets, including the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, the Philippines, and New Zealand, with a global rollout set for April 28, 2026. You can find it on App Store here.

Netflix first introduced games to its platform in 2021, and Playground marks its first dedicated app focused entirely on kids gaming.
