Apple has released the latest beta of OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan to be developers and public beta testers. OS X 10.11.1 beta 4 has the build number 15B38b and update size is 1.1GB. This is actually smaller than the latest iOS 9.1 beta 5 update which was around 1.6GB.
OS X 10.11.1 is a minor update with bug fixes and performance improvements. The only visible change in the beta releases so far has been the inclusion of new emojis which include the middle finger, tacos and a lot more, similar to iOS 9.1 betas.
El Capitan has been a good upgrade even before this point release by bringing performance improvements, stability, bug fixes as well as new features such as updated Mail, Safari, Notes and other other build in apps along with power user features such as split view and the updated Mission Control.
Users who are on an existing developer beta or public beta can check Mac App Store to download the update. The update is also available via Apple Developer Center. Users interested in the public beta can sign up on Apple’s Public Beta Program website.
Having installed beta 4, we have not been able to see any noticeable change. The update seems faster and makes the fans become noisy a little lesser than previous beta but other than that, it is mostly the same as pervious ones. There are definitely some under the hood bug fixes and changes but Apple has not shared a detailed change log.
