Siri says we will “have to wait” for news regarding Apple’s rumored Spring event

Apple’s rumored Spring event has been teased by the rumor mill for many weeks now. Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman previously claimed that the tech giant was “targeting” a date on or near March 8 to debut the next-generation iPhone SE, iPad Air 5, and more. However, Apple’s virtual assistant Siri is saying we may have to wait for the event’s invites to drop.

We might have to wait a bit longer for Apple’s Spring event, according to Siri

If you access the personal assistant and ask “What is going to be announced at the Apple Event?”, Siri will say “You can’t hurry news. No, you’ll just have to wait.” Siri only offers this response when asked the phrase mentioned above. If you try asking when an Apple event will take place, the virtual assistant just shows the Apple event website.

Apple is rumored to be holding its first special event of the year in March to announce a new iPhone SE with 5G connectivity, a new iPad Air, and new Macs, as per a filing in the Eurasian database.

According to a previous report from TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the next-generation iPhone SE will have a similar design to the current model with a 4.7-inch LCD panel, unlike high-end iPhones which feature OLED panels. Alongside 5G connectivity, the iPhone SE 3 will be equipped with the A15 Bionic chipset.

The fifth-generation iPad Air’s rumored specs include the A15 Bionic chip, 5G connectivity, and improvements to the front-facing camera, which will be upgraded to a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and feature Center Stage. The device will also use a similar chassis to the third-generation 11-inch iPad Pro, featuring a twin-lens camera on the back, but it is still believed Apple will continue to use a single-lens camera.

Other products that could be announced during the event include Apple Silicon launches such as a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 chip, a MacBook Air with an M2 chip, and a Mac mini with an M2 chip, as per an EEC filing. It is likely that one of the two laptops models, entry-level MacBook Pro or MacBook Air will launch at the March event.
