Apple’s WWDC 2026 teaser is doing more than setting the tone for its annual developer event. The artwork appears to quietly preview a major redesign of Siri expected to arrive with iOS 27 later this year. Subtle visual cues like the glowing “26” logo, dark background, and light bloom effects point to a new interface Apple is testing internally.

Reports suggest that this redesign is not just cosmetic. Apple is preparing a broader shift in how Siri works, moving beyond a voice-first assistant toward a more flexible, chatbot-style experience that blends search, conversation, and system interaction in one place.
At the center of this redesign is the Dynamic Island. In iOS 27, activating Siri is expected to expand the pill-shaped cutout with a “Search or Ask” prompt and a glowing cursor. The interface mirrors the WWDC teaser itself, with thin light effects around the edges that stand out especially in dark mode. Apple is also reportedly working on a dedicated Siri app that allows ongoing conversations and includes a visible history of interactions.

This change signals a shift in how users interact with Siri. Instead of relying on one-off voice commands, the assistant is being redesigned to support back and forth conversations. Users will be able to combine multiple requests in a single query, reducing the need to repeat steps. Siri is also expected to gain better awareness of on-screen content and personal data, allowing it to provide more context-aware responses.
Apple is also exploring support for third-party AI agents. This would allow Siri to pass certain queries to specialized services when needed, rather than relying entirely on Apple’s own models. The approach suggests a more modular system where Siri acts as a central interface for different AI capabilities.
While artificial intelligence is expected to be the headline feature of iOS 27, Apple is also focusing on performance improvements. Updates aimed at speed, stability, and battery life are expected to complement the new Siri experience. Additional features targeting enterprise and education users are also reportedly in development.
WWDC 2026 is scheduled to begin on June 8, where Apple is expected to officially preview iOS 27 alongside updates to its other platforms. Based on the teaser alone, Siri’s redesign is shaping up to be one of the most significant changes in this release.
