Passable, a new app from developer Angelo Cammalleri, turns Apple Wallet into a contact-sharing hub with far more control than Apple’s native NameDrop. The app lets you create custom contact passes, styled however you want, and share them with the ability to remotely update or delete them on every device that received one.
NameDrop works for quick contact exchanges, but it lacks granularity. Passable solves that by letting you build different contact cards for different contexts. Create one pass with your work email and phone number for business functions, another with personal details for friends, a third for just social media handles. Each pass lives in Apple Wallet where recipients can find and reference it easily.
When you update your information in Passable, the pass refreshes remotely on all devices that received it. If you change jobs, delete a phone number, or rebrand your social handles, everyone sees the change automatically. You can also remotely delete a pass entirely, useful if you’ve shared contact info with someone you no longer want to stay connected with, or if you’re cycling through temporary project teams.
Passable lets you create passes for websites (your portfolio site, for instance), social media, and TestFlight links. You can design the look of each pass, color, styling, layout, to match the context or your personal brand. The app supports iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch and requires iOS 18, macOS 15, and watchOS 11 or later.
The free tier gives you one wallet pass per category. Passable Gold removes that ceiling, unlocking 10 passes per category and extra customization options, priced at $2.99 per month, $24.99 per year, or $79.99 for lifetime access.
Passable lands as Apple is actively expanding Wallet beyond payments and boarding passes. iOS 27 introduces a native “Create a Pass” feature designed to make it easier for users to add tickets, memberships, and custom passes. That shift creates room for specialized apps like Passable to build on top of Wallet’s infrastructure rather than compete against it.
The app fills a real gap. Apple’s Wallet has been the hub for identity and credentials on iPhone for years, yet contact management has remained sparse, NameDrop is quick but blunt, and there’s no native way to create context-specific contact cards or manage them at scale. For freelancers, consultants, and anyone whose contact details change frequently, Passable’s remote update and deletion features have tangible value.
