Apple Seeds macOS Tahoe 26.6 Beta 4 to Developers

Apple has seeded macOS Tahoe 26.6 beta 4 to registered developers, just a week after beta 3. The update is available over-the-air for developers with Macs enrolled in Apple’s beta testing program, or from Apple Developer Center as a download.

Developers can get the update by going to System Settings, General, Software Update. Wait for the update to show and start the download process. If the update does not show for you, check if the Developer Beta Updates are enabled and a free Apple developer account is linked.

Apple has not shared any release notes and details of what is included in macOS Tahoe 26.6. It is expected that it will feature bug fixes and security updates. Given the weekly developer beta releases, it is highly likely that we will see a final release within a few weeks.

This minor update is a typical of a maintenance release that is delivered alongside the major upcoming operating system, which in this case, is macOS Golden Gate. It it not a hidden fact that macOS Tahoe had its fair share of design issues with the introduction of Liquid Glass, and that’s one of the biggest areas of improvement in Golden Gate. Apart from that, users will also be able to get access to the new personalized Siri AI, improved search, better performance, and enhancements to first-party apps including Safari, Messages, Mail, Calendar, and more.

It is important to note that macOS Tahoe is the last release that will support Intel based Macs as Golden Gate has dropped support for them. If you want the latest and greatest macOS updates and features, it’ll be worth upgrading to an Apple Silicon Mac soon.

Apple is also testing iOS 27 and iPadOS 27watchOS 27tvOS 27, HomePod software 27, and AirPods firmware updates with developers, with public betas for all of those expected this month.

Apple has also seeded beta 4 for iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and visionOS 26.6 to developers today, which are also minor updates.
