Apple has released the fifth developer beta of iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6. The update is now available over the air to registered developers with compatible iPhones and iPads, and can also be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center.
Apple released iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 beta 4 one week ago, followed by a public beta. The steady weekly release schedule suggests that the final update could arrive later this month.
As expected from an x.6 update, iOS 26.6 and iPadOS 26.6 do not introduce major new features. The release is focused on bug fixes, security updates, and other under-the-hood improvements. One small change discovered in the beta relates to blocked contacts: users may see a warning when they reach the maximum number of contacts they can block.
Apple had planned to include some security fixes in iOS 26.6, but released them earlier with iOS 26.5.2 and iPadOS 26.5.2 so they could reach users sooner.
If you are already running the previous developer beta, go to Settings > General > Software Update to download and install the latest build. Make sure your device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and has at least 50% battery charge.
Apple also released new developer beta updates for macOS Tahoe 26.6, as well as watchOS 26.6, tvOS 26.6, and visionOS 26.6.
In parallel, Apple is testing iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, with the third developer beta also released today. A public beta is expected later this month, giving more users early access to features such as personalized Siri AI, Image Cleanup and Reframing, Liquid Glass refinements, and improvements across apps including Safari, Wallet, Passwords, Mail, and Messages.
