HomePad May Come in Four Colors, Leaker Says

Apple’s HomePad smart home hub may come in four colors. A new leak lists Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink as the finishes.

The list comes from leaker pdfu, who shared it in a follow-up post on X on October 1. A day earlier, pdfu posted images of what appears to be the HomePad setup process. Apple has not confirmed the colors, and the hub is expected to launch on October 13.

The HomePad May Come in Silver, Space Gray, Starlight, and Rose Pink

Pdfu says the hub may ship in these four finishes:

  • Silver
  • Space Gray
  • Starlight
  • Rose Pink

The color list comes from the setup software. The Photo Face setup screen picks its preview art based on the hardware color the device reports, so each finish gets its own preview.

Pdfu adds that the device’s housing may also appear in setup screens once the device assets are available. The images seen so far show the Photo Face and a glimpse of the square form factor.

The Setup Images Already Show the Photo Face and the Square Shape

The Photo Face turns the display into a digital photo frame that pulls from iCloud Photos and matches the iPhone Duo’s StandBy mode. It is one of several faces planned for the hub. Earlier code shows the hub is expected to use Apple Watch-style faces that owners can customize.

The hub is expected to have a 6-inch square screen. The rumored iMac G4 inspired design pairs the display with a half-dome metal base and an arm that connects the two. Earlier reporting also describes a second version that attaches to a wall.

Apple is also reported to be building a widget gallery that syncs iPhone widgets automatically. The hub is not expected to have a full App Store, but it should run apps and widgets such as Calendar, Weather, Music, Messages, and Reminders.

Apple Is Expected to Launch the Hub on October 13 With a New HomePod mini and Apple TV

Apple plans to launch the hub on October 13, alongside an updated HomePod mini and a new Apple TV. Apple’s code shows the HomePod mini 2 in five colors: green, pink, blue, white, and black.

The leak does not include pricing, and earlier reports pointed to a price of around $350. The hub is already in employees’ homes for testing, and Apple reportedly expects some households to buy one for more than one room.

The iPhone Duo follows with pre-orders on October 16 and a launch on October 23.
