Apple is letting iPhone Duo buyers set up their order four days before pre-orders open. The Get Ready process starts on Monday, October 12, which gives buyers time to build the whole order before the first pre-order goes live.
The date was added to Apple’s iPhone Duo product page on September 28, and a Reddit thread pointed it out. The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone, and it starts at $1,999 in the US.

Get Ready walks you through every choice Apple asks for at checkout. You go through it once, and the order is ready to submit when pre-orders open.
The process covers these choices:
- Your preferred color and storage capacity
- Your carrier status
- Accessories
- An AppleCare+ plan
- A trade-in
- Your payment method
- Your shipping and billing address
Once pre-orders go live, Get Ready allows one-tap ordering. Supply of the phone is expected to be limited, so skipping the typing while other buyers are still entering addresses and card details saves real time.

Carrier status and trade-in are the other two to sort out ahead of time. The iPhone Duo is eSIM-only worldwide with dual eSIM support, and Apple’s trade-in credit goes up to $885 depending on the device and its condition.
Pre-Orders Open October 16 at 8 a.m. Eastern Time
Pre-orders begin on Friday, October 16 at 5 a.m. Pacific Time, which is 8 a.m. Eastern Time. The phone launches one week later on Friday, October 23.
Limited stock is the main reason to prepare early. Foxconn’s assembly yield for the iPhone Duo is reportedly in the 60 percent range, and the first batch of phones is small. Buyers who finish Get Ready first will be able to submit an order faster than people entering details at checkout.
