As expected, blackra1n RC2, the updated version with bug fixes of the latest iPhone OS 3.1.2 jailbreak tool by George Hotz has been released. Along with fixing jailbreak issues, it also brings support for a tethered jailbreak for iPod Touch 8GB and new iPhone 3GS’es. Note: tethered jailbreak means that you’ll have to connect your device to your Mac or PC to start again after a reboot with jailbreak. You must also have OS 3.1.2 on your iPhone or iPod Touch to jailbreak using blackra1n RC2.

Important: iPhone OS 3.1.3 has been released for the iPhone and iPod Touch. We’ve got a new guide up on how to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 and iPod Touch 3.1.3 with redsn0w 0.9.4. Don’t upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.3 if you’re using an unlocked iPhone 3G/3Gs or a jailbroken iPod Touch 2G (MC Model)/3G. The redsn0w guide is for iPhone 2G/3G jailbreak and iPod Touch 1G/2G ( non-MC Models) only.
I've run through blackra1n a few times and its gone all the way through without a hitch, but when it reboots the blackra1n icon isn't there.. i only have one page of apps so it's not that i've just neglected to look to my other pages.. is it the only thing to do to just run it through again?
thanks to blackrain i have jailbroken ipod touch 3g (3.1.2)…..my prob is that even after trying to install cydia a gazillion times using blackrain…the icon for cydia nver shows up after respring….please help

i follwed the instructions and when i click “make it rain” its does nothing it just says “waiting for device” and its plugged in…
Just tap the screen and scroll the page to the left. The next page of applications might be empty but hopefully you'll find there the application icon. That's how I found mine :). Cheers'
I have jailbreak 3.0 redsnow on my touch 2g. Do i have to restore to original settings before upgrading to 3.12 firmware and Blackrain?
When u upgrade the firmware the jailbreak will be removed automatically. You can then follow the guide to jailbreak firmware 3.1.2
been trying for a few hours now, works all great exempt cant get blackrain icon in apps??
i am having the same problem. the blackra1n is stating entering recovery and iTunes is asking to restore the iPod.. what should i do?

Now I want to install cracked games and apps .ipa files using data cable, I downloaded applesync from cydia for the same…but :( it requires a IPOD RESTART after installation…which I cannot do… :)
Can anybody tell me any other method using which I can install .ipa files using USB (data cable)..HELP!

When you restart your iPod you just neet to re-run blackra1n again.
This is just a tip on how to re-jailbreak your ipod if the battery drains, and you need to restart it.
hey i cracked successfully my ipod touch 64g (3gen) but I can't download cydia and icy doesn't appears on the screen. Rock is succesfully downloaded, but I don't find usefull apps on this one.
ideas?
Is there a solution yet or on the way for the need to re-run blackra1n each time your iPod reboots or shuts down?
help! i have successfully downloaded the blackra1n and it works fine for me, i have wifi working perfectly on my ipod touch 2nd gen..but once i clicked on the Cydia or Rock in the “please select package(s)” after few minutes “error downloading cydia..could not download. Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomainCode=-1001 Userinfo=0x19d770 “timed out” “….WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WHAT SHOULD I DO?
same here, only thing is the window freezes with the “entering recovery”
