Apple announced HomeView, a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, and HomePod mini 2 on October 13, along with a smart home accessory line called Apple Home Collection. All three devices are built around Siri AI, and pre-orders are open in the United States.
Apple announced the products through press releases and videos instead of a keynote. HomePod mini 2 ships on October 30, and HomeView and Apple TV 4K ship on November 13.
HomeView is a $299 smart display with a 7-inch screen and face recognition
HomeView costs $299 in both the countertop and wall-mounted versions. It has a 7-inch Liquid Retina display that dims from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits for a nightstand, an A18 chip, and a 12MP Center Stage camera for FaceTime. It recognizes up to six people by face, and each person gets a Home Screen with their own apps and widgets.
HomeView has Siri AI built in, and with an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad nearby it can draw on personal context from Calendar and Messages. Without one, it still answers general questions and handles music requests. HomeView also streams up to nine camera feeds at once on its Home Camera face and listens for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
The countertop model has a domed speaker base with a woofer and two passive radiators, and the wall-mounted model skips the base and needs a separate Schneider Home mount. Pre-orders cover the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, and the UK, with Singapore opening on October 15. HomeView is not sold in the European Union.
Apple TV 4K gets an A19 chip and far-field microphones at $299
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K costs $299, or $49.83 a month for six months through Apple Card Monthly Installments. Its A19 chip delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous model, and a dedicated AV1 decoder handles streaming more efficiently.
Three far-field microphones let you say “Siri” or “Hey Siri” without touching the remote, and the new Siri Remote adds Find My with Precision Finding plus an option to play a sound. Siri AI runs as a beta on Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) or later, and the new box supports four-speaker surround sound with matching pairs of HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers.
HomePod mini 2 adds Sound Glow and Mac speaker duty for $149
HomePod mini 2 costs $149 and runs on the S10 chip. Sound Glow turns the top of the speaker into a light display that pulses with the music and matches the album artwork. It comes in pink, green, blue, white, and midnight, and it can serve as the default speaker for a Mac with Wi-Fi 6E or later.
Siri AI is coming to the speaker in a later software update with no date, and personal context requests need an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad. HomePod mini 2 ships on October 30, two weeks before the other two products.
Apple Home Collection accessories start arriving in December
Apple Home Collection is a lineup of smart home cameras, thermostats, and a lock designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The accessories pair with an iPhone over NFC and work with HomeView, HomePod, or Apple TV as the home hub. They start arriving in December, and select accessories follow in early 2027.
