Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ was somewhat quietly announced yesterday (in case you missed it, read this to find out all you need to know about it.) While it’s a relatively minor upgrade, it does sport a slightly improved look which a lot of Android 2.2 users now envy. So unless they get Android 2.3 ROMS for their handsets, there are a few alternatives to give you the Gingerbread look and feel on your device. First up, the Gingerbread Launcher with a cool fade effect and greenish icons.
This is the stock Gingerbread launcher modified to work correctly with Android 2.2. It is available for free in Android Market so just head over and search for Gingerbread Launcher. 
Maybe it’s just me, but this launcher seems faster than the default Android 2.2 ( and also the bloated Samsung Galaxy S TouchWiz ) launchers. Let us know your experience with it.
