Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has shared his final prediction for iPhone 18 Pro’s color lineup, just hours before Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event kicks off. According to a post on X, Gurman expects four colors: black, light blue, silver, and burgundy.
iPhone 17 Pro’s Missing Black Option Could Be Back
Last year’s iPhone 17 Pro shook things up by dropping to three colors and skipping black entirely, a first for the Pro line in recent memory. That decision left plenty of buyers waiting for a return to a proper black finish.
Leading up to today’s event, rumors about iPhone 18 Pro colors have been split. Most sources agreed on a new Dark Cherry style shade and a light blue option, but reports disagreed on whether the third and fourth colors would be silver, black, or both.
Gurman’s iPhone 18 Pro Color Predictions
Gurman’s latest post settles the question, at least until Apple confirms it on stage. He is expecting these iPhone 18 Pro colors:
- Black
- Light Blue
- Silver
- Burgundy
That would bring the Pro lineup back to four colors after last year’s cut, and it would mark the return of black for buyers who skipped iPhone 17 Pro because of it.
Gurman’s post covered Apple’s new foldable too. He expects the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, to launch in dark blue and white.

Why Apple May Be Adding a Fourth Color Back
iPhone 17 Pro’s three color, no black lineup was seen as a success, so a jump back to four colors this year is a notable shift. It suggests Apple learned that while colors like Cosmic Orange bring in buyers who want something different, plenty of Pro users still want the classic black option sitting right next to it.
If Gurman’s information holds up, iPhone 18 Pro buyers will get the best of both worlds this year, a bold new color and the black finish that’s been missing since iPhone 16 Pro.
