Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac increases subscription prices effective from October, 2022

Last month, Corel released the new “Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac” which is engineered for the latest Apple Silicon Macs and the upcoming macOS Ventura update. The latest version offers improved compatibility of Windows 11 on ARM, enhanced performance, and gaming updates to Mac users.

Now, the company has announced price increases across the board for Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac which will go into effect from October 6, 2022.

Corel increases subscription prices across the new Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac service by $20

Currently, the Parallels Standard subscription is available for $99.99 per year, and the one-time purchase is for $129.99. Starting from October 6, prices for all versions of Parallels will be as follows:

  • Parallels Standard for $99.99 per year.
  • Parallels Standard one-time purchase without long-term update support for $129.99.
  • Parallels Pro Edition with upgrades for $119.99 per year.
  • Parallels Business Edition with upgrades for $149.99 per year.

Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac - price

Although $20 is a big price jump, the new Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac subscription plans comes with several new features as per the announcement:

  • Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac Standard Edition
    • Full support for Apple’s ProMotion display
    • Enhanced Windows gameplay experience on a Mac
    • Improved compatibility of Intel (x86) applications
    • Improved USB 3.0 to support 
  • Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac Pro Edition
    • Powerful network conditioner on Apple M1 Macs
    • Isolate VM network’s ability to use network boot with Linux ARM VMs
    • Easily analyze an application performance on a separate VM
  • Parallels Desktop 18 for Mac Business Edition
    • Convenient SSO/SAML authentication
    • Allow IT admins to deploy, provision, or transfer a Windows 11 VM across employees’ Mac computers.
    • Manage your Parallels Customer Experience Program participation centrally in Parallels My Account.

For existing users, the upgrade is available for free on parallels.com and new customers will get a 2-week free trial.

Owners of Intel-based Macs can run Windows 11 on their computer via Boot Camp which is not compatible with Apple Silicon Macs. M1/M2 Mac owners can only run Windows 11 through virtualization through tools like Parallels 18 or VMware Fusion.
