Peloton app for Apple Watch now tracks workouts on Bike, Bike+, Tread or App

The Peloton app for Apple Watch has been updated to monitor heart rate and track performance during a workout on the Bike, Bike+, Tread or App.


In April 2020, the Peloton app for Apple Watch was launched to allow users to track their performance, monitor their heart rate during different indoor workouts on the Peloton bike or treadmill, and log workout data to Apple’s Health app. Now, the Peloton app for Apple Watch allows users to track more workouts than ever.

Updated Peloton app for Apple Watch connects via a single tap to track workout performance

The Peloton app for Apple Watch now connects with a single tap on the smartwatch when users start a workout on the Bike, Bike+, Tread, or App and tracks Strive Score, monitor heart rate, and allows them to close activity rings in real-time.

There are two easy ways to connect Apple Watch to Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, or App:

  1. The app sends a notification on the Apple Watch the moment a class starts on the Peloton Bike, Bike+, Tread, or App. Simply tap on the notification to monitor the fitness metrics.
  2. Manually, open the Peloton app on Apple Watch when starting a class and tap to connect to track.

As per the announcement, the Peloton app for Apple Watch will monitor users’ heart rate during workouts to calculate their Strive Score which will allow them to compare their performance and also allow them to close their activity rings.

Peloton will use your heart rate to calculate your Strive Score—a personal, noncompetitive metric that measures how much time you spend in each heart rate zone to track how hard you’re working out. This will give you an easy way to compare your performance across all your workouts, including cycling, strength, HIIT and bootcamp classes.

Connecting your Apple Watch to Peloton will also allow you to more seamlessly log your workouts in the activity app. We hope this will make it that much easier to close your rings and keep you on the path to feeling like your fittest self.
